UPDATE: Flaggs wins Democratic primary for mayor

With each of the 11 precincts reporting, incumbent Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr. has claimed the Democratic nomination for mayor. Flaggs now advances to the June 6 general election.

Flaggs claimed nearly 70 percent of the vote to knock off primary challengers Charles Selmon and Mitchell Dent.
