Robert Wendell Walton

Robert Wendell Walton passed away Monday, May 1, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home following a lengthy illness.  He was 79. 

He was retired from the Anderson Tully Lumber Mill and was a member of the King David No.1 M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Eva Hall Walton Sr.; his wife, Marzella Price Walton; his daughter, Bertha Price Gibson; and his brothers, Albert Walton Jr. and Samuel Andrew Walton.

He is survived by his two brothers, James B. Walton and Sterling Walton, both of Albion, Mich.; his five sisters, Patricia (Abe) Wiggins and Mary Helen (Shannon)  Motley, both of Albion, Mary Ann Murphy, Carrie (James) Cruthirds and Bertha W. (Washington) Cruthirds, all of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 6, at St. Luke Church of God In Christ at 2 p.m. with the Elder Washington Cruthirds officiating.

Interment will follow under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. There will be a visitation held on Friday the 5 May in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m.
