Margaret Ree Brown Neal passed away Monday, May 8, at her home surrounded by family and friends.  She was 80.

She was retired from the Westinghouse/Cooper Lighting Co.  She was a member of the Locust Grove M. B. Church, where she also served as secretary of the church and was a member of the choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Indiana Paulding Brown; her brothers, Joe Brown Jr., Arthur Brown, Oscar Brown and James Brown; her sisters, Susie White, Agnes Carter, Mary Banks, Martha Banks and Julia Prentiss.

She is survived by her husband, Bennie Neal Sr. of Vicksburg; her son, Bennie Neal (Stephanie) Jr. of Red Oak, Texas; her daughters, Connie (James) Russell of Converse, Texas and Linda Neal of Vicksburg; her two sisters, Hazel Erwin of Vicksburg and Ethel Miller of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 13, at Locust Grove M. B. Church at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Johnnie Williams officiating.

Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday in the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. She will be taken to the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
