OXFORD — Texas A&M showed up to Swayze Field and came out swinging Friday night.

The Aggies scored three runs in the first inning, three more in the third, and in seven of nine innings overall to beat Ole Miss 12-5.

Logan Foster and Braden Shewmake both homered for Texas A&M (35-15, 15-10 SEC), which amassed 14 hits. Five players had multiple hits, and eight of the nine starters had at least one hit. Seven players had at least one RBI.

Ole Miss (29-21, 11-14) lost its fourth straight game overall — and fifth straight SEC game — as it continued to slide in the conference standings. The Rebels have clinched a berth in the 12-team SEC Tournament, but are battling with three other teams for seeding.

The Rebels kept up with Texas A&M for a few innings, but eventually watched as the Aggies pulled away. Ole Miss scored twice in the fifth inning, on an RBI single by Grae Kessinger and an RBI double by Will Golsan, to get within 7-4.

After that, the Aggies scored in each of the last five innings. Jorge Gutierrez drove in two runs with a pair of doubles, Austin Homan had an RBI single, and Shewmake capped the night with a solo homer in the ninth.
Foster finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Shewmake was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored.

For Ole Miss, Golsan went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored, Nick Fortes had two hits and an RBI, and Kessinger drove in one run and scored another.

Ole Miss starter James McArthur (3-5) allowed seven runs in five innings, and took the loss. He gave up seven hits and walked one.
