The list was created by using common hashtags of popular sights, monuments and attractions of destinations in the US and around the world.

When it comes to the most Instagrammed places in America, Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida reign supreme with 14,615,952 and 5,465,098 posts respectively.

The two Vicksburg sites were the only sites in Mississippi to make the list.

It’s great to see that Vicksburg has a huge presence on Instagram which is a very popular social media network for millenials,” Laura Beth Strickland, Deputy Director of the Vicksburg Convention and Visitors Bureau, said. “Vicksburg is the only Mississippi destination on the list and it’s no surprise as our city and our Vicksburg National Military Park are very photogenic.”

The VNMP was narrowly edged on the list by Moon National Monument in Idaho and Hildene, the Lincoln family home, in Vermont.

Notable locations on the list included the Ben & Jerry’s factory in Vermont which ranked 88, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, which ranked 54, Glacier National Park in Montana, which ranked 28, and the Empire State Building, which ranked 11. Rounding out the top five were South Beach in Miami, the Las Vegas Strip and Times Square.
