Funeral services for Richard Earl Peaches will be Saturday, May 20, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl James officiating. Interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.  

Mr. Peaches passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2016, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was 67.

He had worked for International Paper Co. and Cooper Lighting, and was a member of Grove St. M. B. Church.  He was a 1969 Graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School and attended Utica Jr. College.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Coatney and Addie Johnson Peaches Sr.; his brothers, Coatney Peaches Jr. and Walter Peaches; and his sisters, Rose James, Virgie Kemp and Fannie Watson.

He is survived by his two daughters, Angela Lathum and Keisha Peaches, both of Jackson; his sister, Shirley Peaches of Vicksburg; a special friend, Mattie Griffin of Vicksburg; his caregiver, Mary Freeman; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others, including members of Brown, Cage Gatln, Lewis, Sims, Strong, Thomas and Wilson families of Vicksburg.
