To the editor:

I need to commend two Vicksburg Police Department officers who stayed with me and my cat after he was hit on a recent Saturday morning.

Grayson Cat was a mangy old stray but I loved him dearly.

The officers stayed with me and kept Grayson and I safe until animal control could get there to get him moved to the vet. They even stood with us after it started to rain.

I can never express my gratitude to those officers for the compassion expressed to Grayson and I. Just thought you should hear some good news about our Police Department.
