City election officials are hoping they will be able to avoid the confusion Tuesday that occurred during the May 2 primary.

“So people who voted in the county elections or the presidential (primary) election last year went to the last place where they voted and couldn’t find the precinct.”

One example, he said, was Travelers Rest M.B. Church, which is used as a county voting precinct. Osborne said his office received several calls from people who went to vote at the church and found it closed.

“We’re hoping people will be more aware of where they have to go vote Tuesday,” he said. “If anyone has a problem finding their precinct, they can call the clerk’s office (601-634-4553) and we can help them.”
