Clear Creek Ladies report

On May 31, Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association members played a round of individual stroke play. The Flight A winner was Martha Masterson, and Dinah Lazor won Flight B. Emily Bonelli won Flight C, as well as having the day’s only chip-in.

The Warren Central Lady Vikes Soccer Camp is June 26-29, at the front practice field at Warren Central High School.

The camp is for boys and girls in grades 1-6, and will run from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day. The cost is $75 per player before June 17, or $80 on the day of the camp. All campers must bring shin guards, cleats, tennis shoes and sunscreen.

Registration is available at Hobie’s Sports and Outdoors on Pemberton Blvd.

Gator Golf Classic

The Second Annual Gator Golf Classic is scheduled for June 14 at Clear Creek Golf Course. The tournament is a benefit for the Vicksburg High School baseball and golf programs.

The two-man scramble will begin at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $150 per team, or $75 for an individual. Hole sponsorships are available as well, for $100, $225 and $500. The winning team will receive 2 YETI coolers. There are also prizes for the top three finishers in each flight, for the longest drive and closest to the pin.

Play 2 Wynn camp

The 15th annual Play 2 Wynn Basketball Camp will be held June 19-23 at Vicksburg Junior High School, from 9 a.m. to noon each day.

The camp is open to boys and girls ages 6-16. The cost is $35 per day, or $100 for the week. The camp teaches basketball fundamentals and skills. For more information, email Donna Brown-Wynn at

Braves tryout camp

The annual Atlanta Braves Tryout Camp is scheduled for July 6 at Trustmark Park in Pearl. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the tryouts at 10. The annual event is free of charge and under the direction of Area Scout Supervisor Don Thomas.

All players must be between the ages of 16 and 22 to participate and are expected to furnish their own cleats, gloves and uniforms. No exceptions will be made. The Braves will provide any other necessary equipment.

WC baseball camp

Warren Central’s annual “Home of Champions” youth baseball camp is scheduled for June 12-15 at Viking Field.

The camp is for children ages 5-14, and will run from 8 a.m. to noon each day. Instruction will be provided by Warren Central coaches and players.
