Woman remains hospitalized after wreck

A Vicksburg woman was in critical but stable condition at University of Mississippi Medical Center after her car left Mississippi 465 in the Eagle Lake Community Wednesday afternoon.

Kelly Cooper was southbound in a Cadillac CTS when she lost control and struck a light pole, Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Cpl. Eric Henry said. The wreck about 3:45 p.m. near the Eagle Lake Cotton Gin.

According to reports, the car went airborne after leaving the highway and landed in water along the side of the highway.

Cooper was airlifted by helicopter from the scene to UMC.
