A Vicksburg teenager was seriously injured Saturday when the car she was driving hit another car on Interstate 20.

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Cpl. Eric Henry said Monday morning Gracie Burke, 16, was in critical but stable condition at University of Mississippi Medical Center. No one in the other vehicle was injured. The wreck occurred about 4 p.m. Saturday. Both cars were eastbound in the right-hand lane of I-20 near the truck scales when the Chevrolet SUV driven by Burke struck the rear of a Hyundai SUV driven by Dileep Kallamthottathi, 33, of Vicksburg.

Both vehicles went off the highway and crashed, and Burke was ejected from the vehicle. She was flown to UMMC by helicopter.
