One man was shot in the arm about 1 p.m. Monday after an exchange of gunfire with another man as they sat in their cars in the parking lot of a convenience store at the corner of Cherry and Clay streets, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

No arrests have been made, and the victim and the other man have not been identified.

According to police reports, the victim pulled up to the store and went inside. Soon after he went inside, a second car pulled into the parking lot. When the victim came out of the store, he went to the second car and talked with the passenger. Words were exchanged, and the second man pulled a gun and started shooting at the victim, who got his car, got his gun and returned fire.
