Melvin ‘Mel’ Merle Carlson Jr. passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, at his home.  He was 70.    

He attended St. Aloysius High School and was a communicant of St. Paul Catholic Church.   

He is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Carlson of Columbus, Ohio; one son, Matthew ‘Matt’ Carlson of Rolling Fork; and one sister, Peggy Carlson Barfield of Buford, Ga.   

A Memorial Mass will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Lalor officiating. 

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
