Warren Nevels Sr. died Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at his residence. He was 79.

He was born and raised in Vicksburg. He worked for Patton-Tully as a captain with Mr. Odis Lowery for years. After retiring, he worked with Mr. Earl Carson with the Warren County Ferry as a captain until he retired fully. He was married to Shirley Sherard Estraca for 25 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Katie Nevels; and brothers and sisters.

He is survived by three sons, Warren Nevels Jr. (Denise) of Vicksburg, Ronnie Nevels (Wendy) of Texas and Randy Nevels of Texas; three daughters, Lisa Nevels, Tammy Jilbert and Teresa Nevels Bowlin, all of Vicksburg; one brother, Leon Nevels (Bobby) of Vicksburg; 14 Grandchildren; and 21 Great-Grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 24, from 10 a.m. to noon at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.

Services will follow at noon in the chapel with the Rev. Brian Ivey officiating.

Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Karlton Alison, James Cubit, Warren Nevels Jr., Randy Nevels, Ronnie Nevels and Chance Jilbert.
