Anderson White III

Funeral services for Anderson White III will be Saturday, July 8, at the Vicksburg Auditorium at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Trollars Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m., with the body being viewed from 5 to 6 p.m.

Mr. White passed away on June 30. He was 21. He was a member of the Jackson Street M. B. Church, where he had served on the usher board under the leadership of pastor John Carroll Sr.

He grew up and was raised here in Vicksburg, where he attended both public and private area schools, and later earned his GED.  He was a studious worker and had several jobs, He was employed by the Ameristar Hotel in the housekeeping department, was a funeral attendant for W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home, was a driver for the M & M Transport Service, and a seasonal worker for UPS.

Mr. White III more affectionately known as Andy A. White or “Lil Andy,” was born Nov. 9, 1995, in Vicksburg to Anderson White II and Cora Galtney-White .

He is survived by his parents, Anderson White II and Cora Galtney-White, both of Vicksburg; his two daughters, Zhy’on Jefferson and Aniya White, both of Vicksburg; his sister, Dr. Audrey White-Banks of Pearl; his grandparents, Robert and Ruth Nixon of Vicksburg, and Anderson White Sr. of Jackson; his aunts, Mary Ruth Galtney and Alfreda White, both of Vicksburg, and Addie Mae Brown of Chicago; his uncles, Alfred White of Jackson and Ronnie White of Richland; a special friend, Leona “Rody” Miller of Vicksburg; and a host of other relatives, friends, co-workers and others.
