The new structure follows the departure of former bank president Joel Horton.

“I learned about the move after the board’s back in May,” Keen said of his promotion to president. “Very honored to be in this position, with this bank.

“We want to grow the bank. We want to grow deposits. We want to be the hometown bank for everyone here.”

Keen, a native of Vicksburg, graduated from Warren Central High School. He attended the University of Mississippi and then the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State.

He assumed his new position, new role on July 1.

Keen has been with the bank for 14 years and has banking experience in consumer, business, and real estate lending. He is currently the secretary of the board for RiverHills and has served the board for 10 years.

“It’s the people,” Keen said of why he has enjoyed banking. “That is what makes it entertaining. Every day is different.”

Keen has served as parish council president and currently is on the finance committee for St. Paul Catholic Church. He is a member of the Vicksburg Rotary Club.

Keen and his wife, Tiffany, are the parents of two children, Elizabeth and Will.

According to the Deposits Market Share Report released by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., RiverHills ranked fourth in the Vicksburg market at the end of the filing period on June 30, 2016. The new report for year ending June 30 of this year has not been released.

In that report, RiverHills reported deposits totaling $138.2 million. BancorpSouth, Trustmark and Regions each ranked higher.

Since then, Regions has recently closed two of its locations in Vicksburg.
