One suffers gunshot wound in shooting near LD’s Kitchen

One victim suffered a gunshot wound to the hand during a shooting at LD’s Kitchen on Mulberry Street in downtown Vicksburg Friday morning.

Vicksburg Police Capt. Sandra Williams said the victim has been identified as Jeremaih Rose, but she was unsure if he was treated and released or still in the hospital.

Williams said the shooting was reported around 2:30 a.m. and a car with “a number of bullet holes” was found at the scene, but they are unsure how many rounds were fired.

“We have information that it was not a disturbance inside the club,” Williams said. “Once people were beginning to leave, gunshots were heard. So far we were not able to tell who the target was or where the gunshots came from.”

Williams said the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made as of Friday morning.

In other recent crime activity, a traffic stop for speeding on Interstate 20 Tuesday resulted in the arrest of a Jackson man on a federal warrant charging him with probation violation, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Terrence Gates, 31, was arrested after a records check during the stop revealed the warrant, she said.

In other cases:

• Conti Tillis, 24, of Vicksburg, was charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon after his a traffic stop on Lake Hill Drive at Eastover Drive Tuesday. He was being held without bail in the Warren County Jail. He also has a hold placed on him by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

• Alfred Webb, 46, of Vicksburg was arrested on a charge of aggravated domestic violence at a home in the 2200 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard. He was released on $32,000 bond.
