Peggy V. Pierce passed away Sunday, July 16, at Merit Health Central Mississippi Medical Center following a lengthy illness.  She was 56.   

She was a homemaker and member of the Greater Mt. Lebanon M.B. Church.  She was the president of the Vicksburg Citywide Usher Ministry. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Leon Pierce Sr.; her brother, Joseph Glen Pierce Sr.

She is survived by her mother, Marie Horton Pierce of Vicksburg; brothers, Andrew Louis Horton of Baton Rouge, La., and Billy Pierce of Oakland, Calif.; sisters, Delores Pierce Green, Martha Pierce Robinson, Vivian L. Pierce and Lee Theresa Pierce Lynn, all of Vicksburg, Debra Pierce Clark of Ridgeland, Gertie Lea and Carrie Anderson, both of Oakland; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others.

Funeral services will be noon Saturday, July 22, at Greater Mt. Lebanon M.B. Church with the Rev. John Henry Williams officiating.

Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home. 

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
