Funeral services for Rosie Lee Taylor will be Monday, July 24, at Mount Calvary M. B. Church at 11a.m. with the Rev. Mincer Minor Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Taylor was born Aug. 18, 1921, in Nitta Yuma to the late Pearl Stewart Johnson and Charles Stewart. She confessed to Christ at an early age. She was a dedicated and lifelong member of the Mount Calvary M. B. Church in Vicksburg.

Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Mount Calvary’s Sister to Sister organization and the Order of the Eastern Star Vicksburg Chapter No. 1. She attended Bowman School and worked as a nursing assistant for many years at the Kuhn Memorial State Hospital and at the Vicksburg Convalescent Home.

On Monday, July 17, 2017, the death angel bore the bright spirit of Rosie Lee from St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson to a land that is free of sickness, pain and sorrow.

She was preceded in death by her husband Percy C Taylor, Son Myron D. Taylor, 7 brothers Matthew Sharp, David Johnson, Eugene Stewart, William Johnson, Floyd Johnson , Charlie Stewart, B Johnson  and a sister Ella Mae Powell.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her five children, Dr. Malcom (Joyce) Taylor of Madison, Elaine T. (Dwight) Davis of Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Connie C. Taylor of Jackson, Brenda G. Taylor of Dallas, Texas and Reginald C. (Shirley) Taylor of Shreveport, La.; eight grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren; a devoted niece; nephew; and special friends including De’Lesslyn Broome, Money Powell, Lloyd Taylor and Chante and Deion Horn and a host of other relatives
