A Vicksburg woman was wounded in the leg early Wednesday morning after someone shot into a house during a domestic disturbance at a home in the 200 block of Central Drive.

Capt. Sandra Williams, with the Vicksburg Police Department, said police and Vicksburg Fire Department paramedics responding to the 3:27 a.m. shooting arrived to find the woman, who was not identified, in the home with the gunshot wound.

The woman was taken to Merit Health River Region and then transferred to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Her condition was undetermined. Two children in the house were not injured.

Williams said police are holding three people for questioning in the shooting, but no charges have been filed and no motive has been determined.

“We’re still early in the investigation, and this is an ongoing investigation,” she said.
