Police: Investigation into Wednesday shooting continues

Vicksburg police are continuing their investigation into the Wednesday morning shooting of a woman who was wounded in the leg during a domestic disturbance.

Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said multiple shots had been fired at the house. She said police and Vicksburg Fire Department paramedics responded to the 3:27 a.m. shooting in the 200 block of Central Drive and arrived to find the woman, who was not identified, in the home with the gunshot wound.

The woman was taken to Merit Health River Region then transferred to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Her condition was undetermined. Two children in the house were not injured.

Williams said police are holding three people for questioning in the shooting, but no charges have been filed.
