Shooting suspect arrested, charged

A Vicksburg woman is still recovering from being shot in the leg early Wednesday in what authorities are classifying as a domestic disturbance.

Friday, authorities made an arrest in the case, charging 37-year-old Shcobey Harris with aggravated domestic violence, shooting into an occupied dwelling and felon in possession of a firearm.

A $110,000 bond was placed on Harris by Municipal Judge Penny Lawson during a Friday morning hearing. He remains jailed in the Warren County Jail.

Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said Harris fired multiple shots into a home located on the 200 block of Central Drive shortly after 3 a.m. Wednesday.

The victim and two children were inside the home.

The woman was taken to Merit Health River Region then transferred to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for treatment. The two children in the house were not injured.
