Two men have been charged in the June 29 murder of Anderson White III.

Robert Harris and Xavier Clark each face capital murder and armed robbery charges and a $3 million bond.

Friday, two other individuals tied to the case, were arrested, and Monday faced Municipal Judge Penny Lawson in a preliminary hearing.

Deangelo Fields, 20, and Patrick Chambers, 19, were each charged with accessory after the fact of a capital murder for trying to sell the suspected weapon used in White’s murder.

Lawson levied both suspects with $1.5 million bonds.

Details on the attempted sale of a 9 mm handgun were not available.

White was shot during a robbery the night of June 29. However, police responding later in the evening to a call of shots fired in the area of Military and Roosevelt Avenue found no activity.

About 10:45 a.m. June 30, officers returned to the area after a vehicle was found crashed into a road sign indicating a wreck had occurred. Investigators found biological evidence at the scene, indicating a crime may have occurred, and after a search of the area, left the scene. Investigators were later able to determine the vehicle was last driven by White.

About 12:45 p.m. the same day, relatives and friends called E911 when they located White’s body in a wooded area in the 2000 block of Military Avenue.

Harris turned himself in at the Vicksburg Police Department about 3 p.m. June 30, and Clark was arrested later.
