More than 2,000 customers in the Highway 61 south area of Vicksburg suffered a short power outage Tuesday afternoon due to a disruption of a transmission line.

Entergy spokesperson Shelia McKinnis said 2,653 customers experience a seven minute and 42 second outage Tuesday due to an interference on a transmission line between the Vicksburg South and Port Gibson substations.

McKinnis said Tuesday afternoon ground patrols found a tree had fallen on the line after it was cut by a local logging company causing the brief outage.
