Law enforcement officials are working to identify three people in an attempted armed robbery that occurred in the Shoney’s parking lot about 10:30 p.m. Monday.
Capt. Sandra Williams, with the Vicksburg Police Department, said a restaurant employee was heading to his vehicle when he was approached by three black males with handguns.
“They came to the employee and in an attempt to rob him, told him to ‘Give it up,’” Williams said. “At some point, the employee was able to get into his vehicle and at least two shots were fired into the employee’s vehicle. He was able to get away from the robbers without sustaining any injures.”
Williams said the robbers did not get anything from the employee before he got away. The attempted robbery remains under investigation.
“We are running down as many leads as we possibly can in hopes of locating the persons who are responsible for this crime,” Williams said. “The only thing we know is that it is going to be three black males and they had on dark clothing including hoodies and their faces were covered.”
Williams said they are working to track down surveillance video from the area.
Residential break-in under investigation
Williams said officers are currently investigating a break-in that occurred Monday around 8:15 a.m at a residence located on the 100 block of Kings Road.
She said the house showed signs of forced entry, but nothing was reported stolen.
The break-in remains under investigation.
“We don’t have a clue as to who it is,” Williams said.
Two arrested on outstanding warrants
The Vicksburg Police Department arrested two people on outstanding warrants Tuesday.
Harresha Pam was arrested by officers on an outstanding warrant issued by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
“Apparently [Pam] came here to the police station for whatever business and it was determined that she had an MDOC warrant so she was taken into custody,” Williams said.
Richard Davidson was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued by the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office in the Fort Worth, Texas after officers responded to a road rage incident at the intersection of Pemberton Square and Iowa boulevards.
Williams said Davidson is being held by the Vicksburg Police Department until the Tarrant County Sheriff’s office can come pick him up.
