Jerry Ernest Blake, passed away Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at his residence. He was 73.

He was born in Starke, Fla., and had lived in Vicksburg since 1974. He retired from Vicksburg Chemical. He was a member of Warrenton Independent Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, E. H. Blake and Mildred Parker Blake.

He is survived by his wife, Dewanna Blake of Vicksburg; a son, Delane Blake of Vicksburg; daughter, Joan E. Gentry (Steve) of Springdale, Ark.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Warrenton Independent Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Curtis officiating.

Burial will follow at Lamar Baptist Church Cemetery in Delhi, La.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Elric McHenry, Carroll McHenry, Allen McHenry, Donnie McHenry, Leroy McHenry, and Adam Jordan.

Honorary pallbearer is Daniel Gentry.
