A few ‘Holly’ vendors sought

Published 6:17 pm Friday, August 4, 2017

The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation is again looking for vendors for their annual Holly Days Art & Crafts Show. This year marks the 10th anniversary for the event that goes to support the Foundation and its programs.

“I know it is hard to believe that we are already talking about it, but the deadline for vendors is coming up,” Foundation director Stacy Massey said.

The deadline for applying as a vendor is Thursday, Aug. 31.

“The reason we start so early is that many of these vendors are already booking their shows for that time of year,” she said.

Each year, more than 25 vendors offer their goods at the SCHC Auditorium, 1302 Adams St., which will include candles, pottery, jewelry, t-shirts, holiday decorations and paintings from local and regional artist.

“Last year we had rain, but that didn’t hurt the crowd at all,” Massey said. “In fact, it might have helped a little. We had more than 500 turn out.”

The date for this year will be Saturday, Dec. 2. The show begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m., just in time for those attending to make their way downtown for the city’s Christmas parade, scheduled for the same day.

“In addition to the vendors, we will have live entertainment and music throughout the day,” Massey said. “It is a really festive event.”

Exhibit space is $50 for SCHF members and $60 for nonmembers.
