Shirley Ann Jones passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2,  in her home following a sudden illness.  She was 62. 

She had worked at Waterways Experiment Station in the EVS department.  She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Jones; a daughter, Barbara Jones; and sister, Elnora Galloway.

She is survived by her four sons, Jasper Jones, Marcus Jones, Jerome Jones and Reginald Jones, all of Vicksburg; her three daughters, Tasha Hawkins, Jennifer Jones and Monica Jones, all of Vicksburg; her mother, Rosie L. Williams of Vicksburg; her five brothers, Louis Galloway, Michael Jones, and Ernest Jones, all of Vicksburg, Curtis Jones of Natchez and Freddie Bailey of Seattle, Wash.; her sisters, Willie London and Lorraine Brown, both of Vicksburg; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, in the Chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Collier officiating.

Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m.
