“We are excited to have Rob join us and look forward to putting to work his many talents in our newsroom,” said Jan Griffey, The Post’s general manager. “His experience has been at community newspapers like ours, and Rob shares our philosophy that our job is to tell the story of Vicksburg and Warren County on a daily basis.”

Sigler graduated high school at Harrison Central in Gulfport in 1983. He earned a degree in history and journalism in 1988 from Delta State University.

His first work in newspapers was in sports, and Sigler worked his way through the ranks to associate editor at the Picayune Item to managing editor at the Laurel Leader-Call and its predecessor, The Chronicle, to managing editor in Oxford.

“Vicksburg has always held a special place in my heart, and I am thrilled and honored to be part of the incredible team at The Vicksburg Post. I look forward to learning more about Vicksburg, its people and their stories to tell in their community newspaper,” Sigler said.
