Sylvia Mae Hale died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, at her home. She was 72.

She was a life long resident of Vicksburg and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and had worked at Eyeline Optical. She graduated from Culkin High School in 1962.

She is preceded in death by her parents, J. W. Cockrell and Jessie Mae Cockrell; brother, Allan Cockrell; and her sister, Margaret Conrad.

She is survived by her husband, Darryl F. Hale of Vicksburg; son, Darryl Hale II (Melissa) of Vicksburg; daughters, Elaine Gardner (Chuck), Kimberly Sellers (Paul) and Tanis Hale, all of Vicksburg; brother, Harry Cockrell (Joyce) of Vicksburg; sister Joyce Ann Huskey of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Glenwood Funeral Home with Father Tom Lalor officiating.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Tuesday until the hour of the service.
