Betty J. Carroll died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at The Olive Branch Nursing Home in Tallulah, La.  She was 92.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she had been a resident of Vicksburg for a number of years.  Mrs. Carroll was employed in clothing retail sales until her retirement.

She is survived by two sons, Billy R. Carroll (Kathy) and J. W. Carroll (Elaine); and a daughter, Bunny Stringer (H.B); she is also survived by a son in law, Donald Muirhead

Mrs. Carroll is survived by nine grandchildren, Lisa Thorne (Randy), Michelle McRaney, Johnny Stringer (Jennifer), Don Muirhead, Charlie Carroll, Kristy Wilkinson (Andy), Jaye Carroll, Kacey Richmond (Richard), Megan Roberts (Dustin); and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John C. Carroll; daughter, Jean Muirhead; son, Jimmy Carroll; and two grandsons, Joey Carroll and Ray Carroll.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at Riles Funeral Home with visitation from 9:30 until the service.  Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
