Edwards said Jordan cut the juvenile with a knife and in the process cut himself in the hand causing what he admitted to police was a self-inflicted injury.

Edwards said the altercation during which the two were injured stemmed from an early incident on Facebook.

Edwards said that Jordan claims, “Four people came up on him” resulting in the juvenile being cut.

VPD has not been able to confirm Jordan’s account of the incident and it remains under investigation.

The juvenile’s injury required three stitches before he was released from the hospital, Edwards said.

Jordan and the juvenile will sign charges of misdemeanor simple assault against each other.

The case will be sent to municipal court, Edwards said.
