VPD looking for robbery suspect

Vicksburg police are continuing their search for a man who robbed the Dollar General Store at 2203 Clay St. Sunday night, Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said.

Store employees told police responding to the call that a masked man entered the store about 9:05 p.m. as they were closing, produced a gun and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

“This case remains under investigation, and we are checking surveillance tapes from the store and the other stores in the area,” Edwards said. He said police have no suspect at this time.

In other cases:

• A 2012 Chevrolet Silverado was reported stolen Sunday evening from the Cannongate Apartments, 3425 Wisconsin Ave.

The truck was later recovered in the apartment complex parking lot after the reported thief stopped it then ran off on foot.

• A holster for a 9mm handgun, USB cord and a work badge were reported stolen from 2014 Toyota Camry parked in the 100 block of Fleur de Lis Drive Sunday.
