Nancy Steele Register passed away Aug. 30, 2017, in Hemet, Calif. She was 83.

Miss Register was born in Annapolis, Md. on Feb. 20, 1934.

She graduated from the University of North Carolina with a master’s degree in library science.

She held government positions in Pensacola, Fla., Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and various other locations.

Miss Register was preceded in death by her parents, Lt. Cmdr. Paul J. Register and Ethel Lohman Register and a great niece, Lori Kuhnert.

She is survived by her brother, Paul Register; his three children, Paul Register III, Sandra Register, and Bryan Register; two great nieces, Hannah Register and Amy McGuffie; and a great nephew, Matthew Register.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at Cedar Hill
