A weekly recap of how players from Vicksburg-area high schools did in college football and NFL games:

• Central Arkansas safety Michael Ware (Warren Central) had one solo tackle and one pass breakup in a 27-7 win over Houston Baptist.

• Alcorn State wide receiver Tavares Johnson Jr. (Vicksburg High) had one rushing attempt for no gain in a 24-10 win over Alabama State.

• Cornell College (Iowa) running back Patrick Brown (Vicksburg High) caught a team-high six passes for 49 yards in a 42-26 loss to Illinois College. Brown also had one rushing attempt for minus-28 yards and one solo tackle.

• Grambling linebacker De’Arius Christmas (Warren Central) had three total tackles, one sack, and 2 ½ tackles for loss in a 34-21 victory over Prairie View.

• Delta State cornerback Devontae Wilson (Warren Central) had three tackles in a 29-26 loss to West Alabama.

• Belhaven offensive lineman Steve Cooper (Vicksburg High) started at left guard for the Blazers in a 42-30 loss to McMurry. Linebacker Denarrius Noel (Hinds AHS) had a team-high nine tackles, including two for loss, and one pass breakup for the Blazers.

• New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler (Vicksburg High) had four total tackles in a 19-14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
