Convicted robbers get 10 years each

Two Vicksburg men have each been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty in Warren County Circuit Court to robbery.
Circuit Judge M. James Chaney sentenced Darrius Nicholas Jackson, 26, and Montrell Chambers, 26, to 15 years in prison each, with 10 years to serve and five years post-release supervision and ordered both men to pay fines, fees court costs and restitution of $1,384.50 each after their release from prison in installments of $60 per month.
In other cases:
• Morgan Lane Peebles, 36, was placed on 36 months supervised probation after pleading guilty to child abuse. Chaney withheld sentencing pending completion of the probation period, and ordered Peebles to pay $2,584.50 in fines, fees and court costs.
• Bobbie Lee Johnson, 64, also known as Bobby Johnson, received a three-year suspended sentence and placed on three years’ supervised probation after pleading guilty to public assistance fraud.
He was ordered to pay $7,224.50 in fines, fee and court costs, including $6,840 in restitution to the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
In another case, Johnson received a suspended eight-year sentence, placed on five years’ supervised probation and ordered to pay $384.50 in fees and costs.
• Oscar Maurice Bunch, 31, was sentenced to five years in prison with two years to serve in the state’s Intensive Supervision Program with three years’ post-release supervision after pleading guilty to sales of a controlled substance.
He was also ordered to pay $1,884.50 on court costs, fines and fees.
• Michael Lamont Scott, 26, was placed on 60 days’ supervised probation after pleading guilty to malicious mischief and ordered to pay$1,584.50 on court costs, fines and fees.
