Officers responding to a call about a reported aggravated assault and attempted robbery involving a 20-year-old man arrived to find the man sitting in a white 2006 Nissan Armada with multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen, side and head. He was taken to Merit Health River Region, where he is in stable condition, Edwards said.

The shooting was one of two early Sunday morning.

Edwards said police are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of Maurice Henderson, 36, who died early Monday morning from multiple gunshot wounds after a shooting on Baldwin Ferry Road.

Officers responding about 12:04 a.m. to a call of shots fired at the East View Apartments, 1900 Baldwin Ferry Road, arrived to find Henderson on the ground in front of building 14 with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey.

Witnesses told police they heard an argument and then shots were fired. They said a dark colored vehicle left the area at a high rate of speed after the shooting.

• In another case, police have issued a warrant for Kahalil Markell Brown accusing him of statutory rape involving an incident with someone under 16 that occurred Sunday.

Police ask anyone with information on the whereabouts of Hargrove or Brown, or Henderson’s death, to call the VPD at 601-636.2511 or 601-801-5320, or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).
