Ping pong tournament
The City of Vicksburg’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a United States Table Tennis tournament Jan. 4-6 at the Vicksburg Convention Center. Registration forms can be picked up at the Parks and Rec offices at 100 Army-Navy Drive. Entries will be arranged by ages for the tournament.

VSO spring registration
Registration is now open for the Vicksburg Soccer Organization’s spring season, and will continue through Jan. 31.
The league is open to children ages 4 and up, with teams split into different age groups. The registration fees are $60 for children in the U4-U6 age groups; $80 for the U8 division; $85 for U10; and $90 for U12 and above. There is a $5 discount for registrations received by Jan. 10.
The first week of practice is Feb. 5-9, and the season runs from from Feb. 10 until April 7.

Chill in the Hills
Registration is now open for the 10th annual Chill in the Hills run and walk. The 10K run, 5K walk and 1-mile fun run is scheduled for Jan. 13, at 8:30 a.m. in downtown Vicksburg. The registration fee is $25, and includes an anniversary edition T-shirt. The 1-mile fun run is free for children ages 18 and under.

Adult basketball league
Registration is open until Dec. 29 for the City of Vicksburg’s men’s and women’s adult basketball leagues. Packets can be picked up at the Parks and Recreation Offices at 100 Army-Navy Drive or at the Jackson Street Community Center.
Team fees begin at $125, with an extra $5 fee for players that are not city residents. The total fee for each team will not exceed $175.
A mandatory coaches meeting will be held on Dec. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation office. For more information call Joseph Graves at 601-831-8050 or Jay Harper at 601-218-2059.
Hinds baseball showcase
Hinds Community College will host its annual Winter Baseball Showcase Jan. 27 at Joe G. Moss Field in Raymond. The showcase is open to players in grades 9-12 and costs $100 per player.
Players must bring their own cleats, turf shoes, glove, bats and other equipment.
Money will not be accepted until the day of the showcase in case of weather, but pre-registration is available by emailing Hinds assistant coach Nick Ammirati at nicholas.ammirati@hindscc.edu.
