Kings Center basketball
The Kings Community Empowerment Center will host the Kick-off Jamboree tournament to start its intramural basketball season on Saturday. The tournament is for boys and girls teams in grades 6-12. The entry fee is $75 per team, and teams are guaranteed at least two games.

VWAA registration

Registration is open for the Vicksburg Warren Athletic Association’s 2018 youth baseball season. The league is for players ages 4-15. The registration fee is $75 per person, and the deadline is Feb. 14.

VGSA registration

Registration will continue until Feb. 10 for the Vicksburg Girls Softball Association’s spring season.
The fast-pitch league is for players ages 4-16. Players must have turned 4 years old by Feb. 28, 2018, and will be placed in divisions according to their age as of Dec. 31, 2017. The registration fees are $60 for one player, or $50 per player for multiple family participants. Team and banner sponsors are also available.

The season begins March 24.

VSO spring registration

Registration is now open for the Vicksburg Soccer Organization’s spring season, and will continue through Jan. 31.

The league is open to children ages 4 and up, with teams split into different age groups. The registration fees are $60 for children in the U4-U6 age groups; $80 for the U8 division; $85 for U10; and $90 for U12 and above. To register or for more information, visit vsosoccer.org.

Red Carpet scholarship

Applications are now being accepted for the Red Carpet Bowl scholarship awards. The $500 scholarships are available to students at each of Warren County’s four high schools — Warren Central, Vicksburg High, St. Aloysius and Porter’s Chapel Academy — and will be awarded in the spring. To apply, students must fill out an application and write a 500-word essay.

The deadline to apply is March 1. Applications are available by contacting the main office at each school or by calling Travis Vance at 601-218-8556.

Arrowhead Golf Tour

The Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour will host the Averifact Junior Classic Feb. 17-18 at Lakewood Country Club in New Orleans. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is open to golfers ages 11-18.
