Man facing multiple charges in alleged attack

A Vicksburg man faces robbery, assault and kidnapping charges after his arrest Tuesday.
Christopher Lee Johnson Sr., 43, 110 Hawkins St., address not given, was being held without bail in the Madison County Jail pending an initial appearance Friday in Municipal Court, Vicksburg police Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said.
He is accused of robbery of a residence, auto theft, felony domestic violence, attempted murder and two counts of kidnapping. Johnson is accused of assaulting his wife and father-in-law, tying them up and taking his father-in-law’s pickup and his debit card and using it.
Edwards said the case remains under investigation.
In other cases:
• Nathaniel Carson, 23, 502 Overlook Drive, is charged with possession of a stolen firearm. He was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.
Police arrested Carson Wednesday after an investigation that began when officers found a stolen 9mm handgun while searching a car in which Carson was a passenger. The search occurred after the driver of the car was arrested on a warrant during a traffic stop.
• A set of master keys, $100 in food, $30 in tools, $2, an empty bag and a pill box with medication were reported taken Wednesday about 5:59 a.m. from Warrenton Elementary School, 809 Belva Drive.
• A Levian ring with brown diamonds valued at $1,300, an Apple watch and two iPads were reported taken about 9:03 a.m. Wednesday from a home in the 200 block of Manship Circle.
• A black Calvin Klein purse containing $80, driver’s license and credit cards was reported taken about 11:16 a.m. Wednesday from a 2013 Mercedes parked in the 100 block of Hilda Marie St.
• A Spectra laser level was reported taken about 9:18 a.m. Tuesday from the bed of a 2012 Ford F-350 pickup parked at the Lady Luck Casino, 1380 Warrenton Road.
• Eleven 9mm bullets were reported taken about 12:04 p.m. Tuesday from a 2014 Nissan Maximum parked in the 900 block of National Street.
• Toolboxes were reported taken about 12:11 p.m. Tuesday from a storage area at Magnolia Storage, 3787 U.S. 61 South.
Police made the following arrests Tuesday and Wednesday:
• Elijah Eugene Qualls, 40, 4719 Gibson Road, was arrested Wednesday about 8:36 a.m. at the Vicksburg Police Department on charges of malicious mischief and simple assault.
• Niger Allen Ragsdale, 24, 114 Freedom Lane, was arrested about 9:23 a.m. Wednesday at the police department.
• Warrant were served about 10:22 a.m. Wednesday at the police department on Clifton Beradine Saulsberry, 25, 485 Wattkins Road.
• Jordan Leigh Parks, 28, 4407 Halls Ferry Road, was arrested about 10:05 Wednesday in the 3500 block of Pemberton Boulevard on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and first-degree shoplifting.
• Kizzie M. Carter, 39, 3214 Victory Ave., was arrested about 1:17 p.m. Wednesday at the police department on a charge of contempt of court.
• Cierra Patrice Flowers, 28, 1950 Hope St. Apt. 20, was arrested about 10:20 a.m. Wednesday at the police department on a charge of disorderly conduct.
• Walter Lyn Templeton, 48, 167 Countryside Drive, Farmington, Ariz., was arrested about 2:46 p.m. Wednesday, in the 2100 block of Iowa Boulevard on charges of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
• Richard Anthony Courtier, 28, 127B Clear Creek Road, was arrested about 7:37 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Christy Gayle Whittington, 40, 149 County Line Road, was arrested about 7:49 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Bowmar Avenue and Letitia Street on a charges of possession of a controlled substance and improper equipment — lights.
• Breezie Renae Penny, 35, 105 Impala Drive, was arrested about 4:03 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Country Club Drive on two counts of contempt of court.
• A warrant was served Tuesday on Lamar Donald Williams, 31, 605 Cain Ridge Road E-2, at the intersection of Cain Ridge Road and Columbia Avenue.
• Angela Gay Byers, 61, 801 Clay St., was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Vicksburg Police Department on a charge of contempt of court.
• Buffie Deshannon Findley, 43, 2909 Drummond St., was arrested about 10:09 p.m. Tuesday on Wisconsin Avenue on charges of giving false information to police and resisting arrest.
• Kwasba Lamont Nichols, 37, 329 Shady Lane, was arrested about 10:09 p.m. Tuesday on Wisconsin Avenue on charges of disorderly conduct — failure to comply, having an open container of alcohol, expired driver’s license, no proof of insurance and having an expired car tag.

• County Market, 2109 Clay St., shoplifting.
• Dillard’s, 3505 Pemberton Square Blvd., shoplifting.
• Food Max, 2785 North Washington St., petit larceny.
• 400 block of Lake Hill Drive, lost property — undetermined theft.
