Two men have been indicted for murder in the March 7, 2017, shooting death of Reginald Gaines.

Christopher Dewayne Brown, 25, 705 Hall Road, and Byron Martez Reynolds, 32, 420 Hall Road, are accused of shooting Gaines, 30, in the head.

Reynolds is also charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He remains in the Warren Count Jail in lieu of $350,000 bond. Bond information on Brown was unavailable.

Gaines was a passenger in the rear seat of a car traveling south on U.S. 61 South March 7, when he was shot in the head. He was taken by a private vehicle to Merit Health River Region and later flown by helicopter to UMC, where he died the next day. His death was the first homicide of 2017.

In another case, Justin Chance Harris, 27, 4827 Gibson Road, was indicted on three counts of sexual battery on a victim under the age of 14 and one count of statutory rape.

The charges involve a series of incidents involving the same victim. He is being held without bail in the Warren County Jail.

• Thomas Darynell Calvin, no age given, 4920 Halls Ferry Road Apt. 39, sexual battery of a victim under the age of 14.

• Stacy Terell Bester, 39, 1213 Clay St., two counts of aggravated assault. Bester is accused of shooting at two people with a handgun.

• Jonathan Parks, 24, 198 Curry St., third-offense domestic violence.

• Linda Faye Girault, 47, 2159 Brewer Road, Crystal Springs, possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine.

• Jonathan Christopher Phelps, 29, 1527 South St., possession of a controlled substance — ecstasy.

• Robbie Lelia Johnson, 35, 595 Joyce Lane, shooting at a motor vehicle.

• Nathan Carson, 23, 302 Overlook Road, fleeing or eluding a law enforcement officer.

• Keavy T. Lyons, 20, 486 Tilton Ranch Road, and Matthew Michael Stanley, 21, 4116 Mississippi 27, possession of a controlled substance — cocaine.

• Anthony Dewayne Gaines, 34, 2727 Alcorn Drive No. 333, two counts possession of a controlled substance and possession of a stolen firearm. The charges are enhances because Gaines had a firearm when he was arrested on the drug charges.

• Antonio Carl Gray, 21, 1425 Virginia Lloyd Road, Raymond, and Montreal Evans, 19, 1230 Virginia Lloyd Road, Raymond, two counts auto burglary and one count of larceny for the theft of a vehicle.

• Patrick Chad Caples, 36, 448 Boy Scout Road, two counts auto burglary.

• Davonte Jaque Buck, 20, 2630 Roosevelt Ave., and Benjamine Jerome Johnson, 29, 251 Union Ave., burglary of a dwelling.

• Christopher Gaberiel Contreras, 39, 4001 Blunientritt Road, San Angelo, Texas, and Jimmy David Duncan, 50, 2649 Oak Ridge Road, grand larceny.

• Joe William Smith, 49, 2160 County Road, Selma, Ala., receiving stolen property.

• Oscar Lee Anderson, 25, 2705 Drummond St., possession of a stolen firearm.

• Minnie Nicole Henton, 35, 1004 Fifth North St., aggravated assault.

• Larry Lamar Floyd, 40, 141 Morningview Drive, fourth-offense DUI.
