Lottie Mae Johnson Estes

MONROE, La. — Funeral services for Lottie Mae Johnson Estes, 92, of Monroe, will be 10 a.m., Monday, March 5, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with the Rev. Charles Dupree officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Estes, a faithful and active member of Parkview Baptist Church, was born April 21, 1925, in Boyle County, Ky. 

She passed away March 2, 2018, in Monroe.  A former member of College Place Baptist Church, she was director of kindergarten there for several years.

Lottie was a devoted wife and homemaker, loved gardening, sewing and entertaining friends.  A favorite activity was game night at Parkview Baptist Church. 

In earlier years, she traveled extensively with her husband throughout Europe, China, and the U.S.

Mrs. Estes was preceded in death by her parents, Lonzo W. Johnson and Stella Benedict Johnson.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Clyde Lee Estes; son, Gary L. Estes and wife Trudy; daughter, Connie E. Beale; grandchildren, Matthew Beale, Lindsay Estes, and Lauren Estes; great grandchildren, Brynlee Morrow; 2 nieces; and 2 nephews.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Morrow, John Michael Allen, Daryl Washam, and Lannie Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be James F. King, Roscoe Jones, and Sonny Smith.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, March 4, 2018, at the funeral home.
