A Vicksburg woman will serve 20 years in prison for her part in the April 2016 kidnapping and robbery of a man.

Circuit Judge M. James Chaney sentenced Isabella Nicole Brown, 30, after she pleaded guilty in Warren County Circuit Court to armed carjacking, kidnapping and armed robbery in the case. Chaney sentenced Brown to 20 years on the carjacking charge and 10 years each on the kidnapping and armed robbery charges. All three sentences will be served concurrently, meaning they will be served at the same time.

Brown was also placed on five years’ post-release supervision after her release from prison.

Brown was a co-defendant with Billy Westbrook in the case.

Westbrook also pleaded guilty and was sentenced by Chaney to 20 years in prison.

According to police reports, Westbrook and Brown were in the 4000 block of Halls Ferry Road, and asked a man for a ride and help with their broken down vehicle.

The victim agreed to help, and all three got in the victim’s vehicle.

Once all three were in the vehicle, Westbrook pulled a gun and had the man drive to an isolated area where he was forced to the backseat of the car at gunpoint and robbed of cash and all of the other possessions in his wallet.

The pair made at least two stops at ATMs in Vicksburg to withdraw money from the man’s account before heading south.

The man later escaped from the car in the parking lot of Walmart in Hattiesburg and ran into the closet of the store’s vision center and locked the door. The man was not injured, police said.

Once the man escaped and talked to authorities, his car was placed on the National Crime Information Computer as a stolen vehicle. Westbrook and Brown were stopped an hour later by authorities in George County and taken into custody.

In another case, a Vicksburg woman was placed in the 9th Circuit Judicial District Court’s Drug Court Program.

Chaney referred Destin Brand, 23, to the program after she pleaded guilty to two counts of sale of a controlled substance.
