Do you know a woman in Warren County who has made a positive impact on her community?

Mountain of Faith Ministries is accepting nominees for the sixth annual Women Empowering Communities honor that will be presented at the organization’s annual Women’s Empowerment Luncheon Nov. 9.

“The biggest thing is that they are women who are visibly helping others in the community,” said Mountain of Faith board president Toni Terrett. “That is all walks of life so there is no education requirement. They don’t have to be a part of any particular organization. They just have some type of statement from their nominator that they have done things that have touched others.”

The deadline to submit a nomination is April 5 and Terrett said they hope to select the 10 honorees at their board meeting April 8. Nominations can be submitted by sending an email to mofm2002@gmail.com.

“If someone knows someone they want to nominate they should send us a brief statement with that person’s name and contact information and why they think she should be chosen as a Woman Empowering Her Community,” Terrett said. “If she is chosen, we will get more information about her background and life story.”

After they choose the honorees, Terrett said they will have multiple events for the women chosen leading up to the annual luncheon, which serves as a fundraiser for the ministry.

“We do activities leading up to the luncheon to get them prepared for the event and let the community know about it,” Terrett said. “We have a tea, we have a reception with them and we meet with them a couple times to tell them about Mountain of Faith.

“It is a way to recognize women in the community who are doing things to empower and uplift others. It is also a fundraiser for Mountain of Faith Ministries to help generate funds to help the shelter organization operate.”
