Farmers, artists and anyone interested in selling their wares at Vicksburg’s farmers’ market are invited to attend an informational meeting to learn more about getting involved in the market.
The meeting will take place Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the Warren County-Vicksburg Public Library, 700 Veto St.
“It is for farmers or people who want to be a vendor at the market,” Rebecca Tarver, assistant director of Main Street, said. “We go over the rules and regulations of the market.”
The market will kick off with a soft opening April 21 during Riverfest. The summer market will officially start Saturday, May 5, and continue each Wednesday and Saturday through Saturday, July 28.
The Wednesday markets will go from 3-6 p.m. and the Saturday markets will go from 8-11 a.m.
The market will be held at the farmers’ market lot at the corner of Jackson and Washington streets.
“We have had a couple people who will sell baked goods or canned good. We’ve got some people who will sell soap that they’ve made. Just basically some homemade items,” Tarver said. “We hope to bring more vendors and we’d love to encourage anybody that would like to participate to please come to our meeting.”
For more information about being a vendor at the market or for any questions prior to the meeting, call the Main Street office at 601-634-4527.
