Two Vicksburg men are being held in the Warren County Jail on drug charges after their arrest Friday, Vicksburg police Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said.
He said officers serving warrants for sale of cocaine on Kersey Albert Young, 26, 1200 Mission 66 Apt. 327, and Bobby Deonte Moore, 40, 1200 Mission 66 Apt. 322, found both men sitting in a car at the Admiral Apartments parking lot on Mission 66. Moore faces three counts of sale of cocaine, and Young faces additional charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of Ecstasy after the drugs were found on him during the arrest.
Young was being held in lieu of $30,000 bond, but has a hold placed on him by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Young, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty in June 2010 with two other men to manslaughter in the March 2009 shooting death of Antonio Turner, 25, was on earned release supervision, and due to be released in September, according to the Mississippi Department of Corrections website.
Moore was being held in lieu of $45,000 bond, and also has an MDOC hold, because he is on house arrest after a 2017 conviction for sale of a controlled substance.
In another case, a traffic stop on U.S. 61 South near Grange Hall Road resulted in the arrest of an Arkansas man on an Arkansas warrant charging him with parole violation, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.
According to sheriff’s office reports, Kenneth Ray Frakes, 58, of Fountain Hill, Arkansas, was stopped for a traffic violation and the warrant appeared during a records check. Frakes is being held in the Warren County Jail awaiting return to Arkansas.
