CARY—Services for Jesse Aubrey Peay, 81, of Cary, will be April 16, 2018, at Cary Baptist Church.

Graveside services will follow April 17, at the Pheba Cemetery in Pheba under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Mr. Peay died April 10, 2018, at the Sharkey-Issaquena Community Hospital in Rolling Fork.

He lived in Northeast Mississippi until 1975, when his family moved to the Hattiesburg area. In 1977, they settled in the Delta where they remained until his death.

He was a deacon and song leader at Pheba Baptist Church and deacon at Cary Baptist Church.  He was known for his love of gardening, and his love of his work.  He was employed for Moore Company in Cary, for 41 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Forest and Pearl Peay; his brother, Charles Author (Elaine) Peay; his wife, Hilda Fulgham Peay; his son, Jesse Wayne Peay; his daughter, Janet Peay McKee Holmes; his granddaughter, Alicia Michelle Peay Vega; his grandson, Dustin Wade Peay and his great-grandson, David Ray “D.J.” Williams, Jr.

Survivors include his two sons, Michael Eugene (Gail) Peay and Charles Anthony (Tony) Peay; and his daughter, Robbie Peay (Dave) Duncan; his grandchildren, Angela (Aubrey) Clarke, Isaac (Tara) Holmes, Christopher (Geidy) Peay, Michael (Amanda) Peay, Nikki Peay, Heather (Josh) Earls, Ashley Peay and Cassidy Willis; his great-grandchildren, Holden Holmes, Tiffany Clarke, Maggie Grace Earls, Sophia Peay, Nicolas Peay, William Peay, Wesley White, Devin Vega, Kaelynn Williams, Roman La’Salle,  Amice Peay, Ryan Peay, Brooklyn Peay and Lexi Peay.

Pallbearers were Mike Peay, Dave Duncan, Charles Warren Peay, Michael Peay, Isaac Holmes and Chris Peay. Honoary Pallbearers were William Moore, Bob Lee, Jeffrey Mitchell, William Frazier and Johnny Miller.
