Rebel Road Trip
The 2018 Ole Miss Rebel Road Trip will make a stop in Vicksburg on April 24, at the Vicksburg Convention Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The featured speakers will include football head coach Matt Luke, new basketball coaches Kermit Davis and Yolett McPhee-McCuin, and athletic director Ross Bjork.

Bubba Mims Golf Tourney
The 14th Annual Bubba Mims Memorial PCA Golf Classic is scheduled for April 25 at Vicksburg Country Club. The four-person scramble will begin at 1 p.m., and lunch will be served at 11 a.m.
The entry fee is $100 per player. Hole sponsorships are also available for $100, and corporate sponsorships for $395. Players can win a new vehicle from George Carr by hitting a hole-in-one, and prizes will be awarded for closest to the hole, straightest drive and longest drive.

WC soccer tryouts
Tryouts for Warren Central’s girls and boys soccer teams are May 7-11, on the front field along Mississippi 27, at 4 p.m. each day. All players must have shinguards, a current physical and a parental consent form.
Tryouts for the girls’ team are May 7 and 8 for players entering grades 7-12. All players must sign up on the front field on May 3, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. to get the necessary paperwork.

Malcolm Butler Football Camp
Registration is now open for the fourth annual Malcolm Butler Football Camp, and will continue through April 30 or until all slots are full.
The camp is July 14 at Vicksburg High School’s Memorial Stadium. There are 200 slots for first- through sixth-graders in the Malcolm & Me Camp, and 300 spots for seventh- through 12th-graders in The Malcolm Butler Junior High and High School Football Camp.

Adult softball league
Registration for the Vicksburg Parks and Recreation Department’s spring softball league will continue until April 27.
Registration is open to men’s, women’s and church teams. Packets are available at the Parks and Rec office at 100 Army Navy Drive, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A mandatory coaches meeting will be held on April 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Parks and Rec office. For more information, call Joseph Graves at 601-831-8050.
Learn to Swim class
Vicksburg City Pool will hold registration for the American Red Cross’ Learn to Swim program, May 16-18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, and from 10 a.m. to noon on May 19. All registration must be done in person at City Pool and is on a first come, first served basis.
The classes provide low-cost swim lessons to children and adults of all ages. Children must be at least 3 years old to participate. The cost is $15 per student for each 10-day session.
The sessions will run from June 4-15, June 25 to July 6, and July 16-27, with class times scheduled throughout the day depending on swimmers’ ages. Each class is 45 minutes long.

Fuzzy Johnson Baseball
Registration is now open for the Fuzzy Johnson Baseball League’s 2018 season. The league is for children ages 9-15, and games are played at Fuzzy Johnson Park on Mission 66. Registration forms are available at the Jackson Street Community Center, or by calling Ernest Galloway at 601-618-4455.
WC basketball tryouts
Tryouts for Warren Central’s boys basketball team will be held April 23-25, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. each day, the Gym A at Warren Central High School. All athletes must have a current physical and turn in a participation packet prior to the tryouts.

USM basketball camp
Southern Miss will host a youth basketball camp May 30 through June 1 at Reed Green Coliseum in Hattiesburg. The camp is for boys and girls ages 4-11, and will run from 8 a.m. to noon each day. The camp is geared toward developing a love for the game in primary and elementary school players by providing basketball activities with social interaction. The cost is $50 per player, and $25 if they bring a second person.
