“We will have representatives from the VA Regional Office in Jackson and the (G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery) veterans hospital,” foundation president Patty Meekus said. “They will bring their big bus, which has computers and talk to the veterans about their benefits, and they can check to see if the veterans are getting all the benefits they are entitled to.

“The setting will be a little more relaxed than if they had to go to Jackson.”

Veterans should bring their discharge papers so the VA representatives will be able to help them with their questions.

“We are asking people who are coming to call us,” Meekus said. “They don’t have to give us their name, but we need to have an accurate count of who’s coming so we can make sure we have enough food.”
