WC softball rained out in Game 2 vs. Tupelo

Warren Central’s softball team will have to wait another day for another shot at Tupelo.

Games 2 and 3 of their Class 6A softball series were rained out on Thursday, and rescheduled for Friday at 5 p.m.at Tupelo.

Tupelo (18-4) leads the best-of-three series 1-0, after winning 5-3 in Game 1 Tuesday in Vicksburg. If Warren Central (11-14) wins Game 2 on Friday, the teams will play Game 3 immediately afterward.

Tupelo is the defending Class 6A champion. Warren Central has never been past the second round of the playoffs, and has only won two series since 2007 — including last week’s first-round win over Southaven.
